With hits such as Baker Street, Right Down The Line and Night Owl, Gerry Rafferty is one of Scotland’s and the UK’s finest songwriters and musicians. After sadly passing away in 2011, his daughter Martha Rafferty sought to complete a number of tracks left unfinished and earmarked by Gerry for a new album. Enlisting the help of Mark Knopfler and Alan Clark of Dire Straits, this vision was realised in the form of Rest In Blue; the new posthumous studio album from Gerry Rafferty, featuring artwork from long-time collaborator John Byrne. The album is a culmination of tracks recorded at varying parts of Gerry’s career, including a number of new originals such as Nothing Personal, which dates back to the 70s, Lost Highway and You’re All I Want. It also features covers of traditional classics such as Wild Mountain Thyme and Precious Memories. Rest In Blue is a quintessential Gerry Rafferty album, featuring a blend of rock and folk which celebrates the sheer magnificence of Gerry Rafferty as both a musician and a songwriter.
